SiamWellTest 2.0 Release

Siam Geotest released an updated version of the well testing software SiamWellTest 2.0. Our new solution is designed specifically to solve current technical challenges and market demands. This product is the result of accumulated user experience and rethinking of the previous version.

Modular design

The main feature of SiamWellTest 2.0 is its modular design. The software package consists of several modules where each one of them is a separate application that can work independently. This approach allows you to complete the software for the individual needs of each customer.

SiamWellTest 2.0 consists of following modules:

• Preparation module — loading, preparation, editing and synchronization of pressure and liquid rate data;
• Recalculation module — adaptation of pressure data to a required depth;
• PVT module – preparation and calculation of fluid data;
• Map module —preparation of the nearby wells data for interference analysis;
• Generation module — research design, synthetic data generation of pressure and liquid rate;
• PTA module — pressure transient analysis for unsteady flows using analytical modeling;
• RTA module – interpretation of flow rates and pressure data by decline analysis;
• IPR module — interpretation of inflow performance relationship;
• Data base module — uploading of interpretation results to the database (SiamOS).

In the future, we are planing to expand the functionality and add new modules.

Updated functionality

The following new features has been implemented in SiamWellTest 2.0:

• Production analysis — the application's toolkit has been supplemented with a module that allows analyzing dynamic flows using the Decline Analysis.
• Adaptation of data to the required depth — SiamWellTest 2.0 recalculates pressure or liquid level to the required level, taking into account inclinometry, friction and temperature gradient using a wide range of built-in equations.

Moreover, we added the undo function, a tabbed system of files and analyses, interfaces for interacting with databases, built-in reference information and much more. Also, we expanded the library of IPR functions.

What was improved

The developers of Siam Geotest accelerated the calculation of analytical solutions to the compressible fluid flow equation and general algorithmic solutions. In addition, the application interface has been improved in the software, considering the long-term user experience with SiamWellTest of the first generation.

SiamWellTest 2.0 runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. Our application is available both in a standalone version for local using in the absence of an Internet connection, and in a client-server version, where calculations are performed on a remote server.
