Our colleagues have published a scientific article in the "Oil Industry" journal, Volume 2021, Issue 09, September 2021. The Siam Well Test software uses the algorithm from this work, ensuring calculations remain fast even with large datasets.
Description of the Method
The method is proposed to speed up a bottomhole well flowing pressure calculation with variable rates, according to the production history. The approach relies on a pressure drop approximation function, which is a fourth-order polynomial of the logarithm of time.
The research demonstrates that calculated pressure values obtained through the traditional and the proposed methods align closely. The proposed method allows significantly increasing the calculation speed with minimal calculation error.
